History
1998
Air Bisec
Operations began under the Air Bisec name in 1998, with cargo flights on AN-26 and passenger flights on TU-134 aircraft.
Rebrand
Georgian National Airlines
Air Bisec rebranded as Georgian National Airlines and took advantage of national flight rights. Alongside TU-134 operations, the airline switched to European and American equipment and became the first airline in the CIS to deliver Airbus A320 and CRJ-200 type aircraft.
2007
Sky Georgia
From 2007, Sky Georgia operated DC-9-51 aircraft for passenger flights to Europe, the CIS, and Asia. The airline also delivered four IL-76 aircraft and performed cargo air transportation under the NATO program.
Formation
Air Georgia
Air Georgia was founded based on Sky Georgia and Air Caucasus Airlines. Strategy developed in two major areas: VIP transportation on its owned private jet Cessna Citation 501, and cargo transportation on the Boeing B747 aircraft.
Through 2019/2020
Charter and regular operations
Until the COVID-19 pandemic period of 2019/2020, the airline operated charter and regular passenger and cargo air transportation on domestic, regional, and international flights.
From 2021
Airbus cooperation
From 2021, Air Georgia cooperates with Airbus S.A.S. related to Airbus A320/220/330 utilization and operation.
